During the 2021/22 administration led by Editor (Emeritus) Peter Samuel, the organization embarked on one of its projects to reach out to Oroke High School students in Akungba-Akoko and sensitized them on career related topics that could breed their minds on the perfect choice to make when considering a career course in the tertiary institution.
The talk, as hosted by few members of Legal Kekenke emboldens some exposition on the day-to-day challenges related to career choice and the best ways to circumvent when faced with them, as well as insightful advices and guidance to pave their ways and provide steady footings needed for the working of the outside world. The project equally affords the students the opportunity to air their thoughts, lay out their doubts, and solidify their career interests.
The Lkites shared their journey and experiences as faced in their respective careers. They highlighted the challenges, rewards, and opportunities they individually encountered along the way. They also stressed on the importance of hard work, fierce determination, dedication, and passion in pursuing any career by using the abbreviation PATH PITS (Passion, Academic enlightenment, Tenacity, Hardwork, Parental and Peer influence, Ignorance and Impatience, Impossibility mindset and Settling for Less) and extensively discussed on the effects of each. And to cap it all, the students were subsequently admonished to explore their interests and talents in order to single out the right fit for them.
Finally, the session was enclosed with reciprocated enthusiasm mixed with gratitude from the students and the teachers.
