Unleashing The New Wave: A Rave Of Wavy Experiences From The Fresher's Picnic On Day 3 of The Freshers' Week

The Freshers' Picnic, as one of the anticipated and revered events among the activities set out for the Freshers' Week, took place as envisaged on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, with the prospective merriness, sleek outfits, fun games, refreshments, and radiant faces glaring with unblunted excitement coupled with steppers daring to light the floor with dynamic moves. The event encapsulated the rawness of bliss in its entirety.

The Freshers' Picnic is organized with the aim of creating more exposure and leveraging the significance of maintaining cordial relationships among the freshmen students through fun games, dance, music, and other interesting activities that can liven up their minds. Prior to the exact day of the event, the other preceding activities previously conducted for the freshmen have undeniably provided them with a critical purview and understanding of the university's academic structure and standards, lifestyle, and the established norms expected of every law student within the faculty.

At the volleyball court near the University Sport Complex, the picnic commenced a bit later than the actual slated time for its commencement, but also not in accordance with the usual style of coordination maintained in the preceding events. For the first few minutes—not less than 30 minutes precisely—there was a major disruption whereby a section of the students were playing football on the court, another had their attention keenly on the board games and their players, while the MC, in the person of Sir Temmy, who spoke to the mic with unrevered enthusiasm and a nice touch of funny jokes and remarks directed at the last section of the freshmen who were mostly females— The riveting picnic couldn't start any better!

Shortly after, now more coordinated—after the freshmen were called to order—the picnic continued with all the attention now fixed on Sir Temmy. The executives that were present were subsequently given due recognition with a shout-out addressed to them.

Later on, a couple of the freshmen—of opposite gender—that were paired together were indiscriminately called up to the front floor to perform in karaoke form as they sang, waltzed, and played in synchronization with the song lyrics blaring from the sound system. Every moment was duly appreciated with roars of laughter and mild teasing, creating a resonating groove and an environment for easy, free minds.

A well-painted summary of the games played includes chess, scrabble, ultimate search, and a classic one to test the friendship of the participants by asking questions peculiar and personal to their other partners—all expertly handled by Rhoda Abiye Oladuti (OLADUTY).

Refreshments were equally served to match the reverie.

It was an interesting moment for the students, whose eyes lit up with excitement all through the event. It was indeed a neatly laid bed of roses for the freshmen, before "shege" finally comes to walk them in their fine, nearly trimmed, and tailored suits and dresses through the classroom walls of Akungba.
