 LSRC V. PRESIDENT: EQUITY PRIVATE CHAMBER ANNOUNCES ITS PARTNERSHIP WITH OLAKUNLE OROJO CHAMBER FOR THE FORTHCOMING CASE BETWEEN THE PRESIDENT OF LSS AND LSRC

Over the past two days, members of the Law Students Society have witnessed a series of issues pertaining the constitution and the clash between the two representative councils of the society, Students' Executive Council (SEC) and Law Students' Representative Council (LSRC) respectively. These issues have reached a critical point, beginning with the President's refusal to comply with the Law Students' Representative Council's request to nullify a purported appointment, the Equity Private Chamber serving the President an interim injunction order granted by the Students Judicial Council, and the President disobeying the injunction order by proceeding with the inauguration of the purported appointees of the BOJ Members, thus further escalating the situation.

 In light of these developments, the Students Union Government released a broadcast, condemning the President's failure to respect the interim injunction order from its judicial arm and in response, the President basing his reason for disobedience on the irregularity on the institution and grant of the order.

In tandem with the aforementioned, Today, on June 17, 2023, the Equity Private Chamber announces its partnership with Olakunle Orojo Chamber to represent the LSRC in the forthcoming case of LSRC v President of LSS and 3 ors. instituted before the Students Judicial Council.

Interview with Equity Private Chamber's Managing Partner, Olatunde Olayinka (TEECLAZIQ)

Legal Kekenke: How would you describe the partnership with Olakunle Orojo Chamber and what effect do you think that would bring toward the forthcoming case?

Olatunde Olayinka: Olakunle Orojo Chamber is a prestigious chamber with great history and great personalities. They have one of the best team of counsels the society can boast of. We believe a collaboration with them will assist us in channeling our case better in the best interest of our client.

Legal Kekenke: Talking about the interest, what interest do you perceive or you're aware of that the Olakunle Orojo Chamber possess in relation to the forthcoming case so much that it would spur their interest for partnership and representation of the LSRC?

Olatunde Olayinka: I think their interest is justice. Our interest is Justice. To restore sanity and respect for the rule of law which is being thrown out of the window by the respondents. Our client is clearly seeking to uphold the law, that's our aim as well.

Legal Kekenke: What are you expectations and reservations as regards the forthcoming case?

Olatunde Olayinka: I don't have personal expectations. Nevertheless, our client's expectations is to ensure that rule of law is restored, by God's grace. On reservations, I have no reservations.

Interview with Olakunle Orojo Chamber Head, Oladele Olamilekan

Legal Kekenke: I must say that this partnership is quite sudden, and not anticipated. So, my question is, what spurred the partnership and the sudden interest to represent the LSRC?

And also, is the chamber representing pro bono or being particularly hired by the LSRC?

Oladele Olamilekan: For the first one, what spurred it was the need to always cooperate with private chambers, as well as building good relationship with them too. It was one of my plan before assuming the position of a Chamber Head.

Second question, I don't want to disclose to the media. Well, it's in the interest of justice though.

Legal Kekenke: What effect do you assume the partnership with Equity Private Chamber would have on the forthcoming case?

Oladele Olamilekan: It'll definitely boost our chance of winning the case in the interest of seeing that justice is preserved even if heavens will fall.
