About The Henry Barnabas Ehi Essay Competition 2023


Easyread Legal, founded by Oboagwina Caleb ESQ, in collaboration with LF Legal and Maxon & Prime Legal, is delighted to announce the upcoming essay competition in honour of Henry Barnabas Ehi. This marks the maiden edition of our esteemed writing competition, aptly named “The Henry Barnabas Ehi Essay Competition.”

 
We are thrilled to offer attractive prizes to the winners:
  • 1st Prize: ₦250,000
  • 2nd Prize: ₦150,000
  • 3rd Prize: ₦100,000

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES FOR PARTICIPATING IN THE HENRY BARNABAS EHI ESSAY COMPETITION

Eligibility: Participants must be young lawyers between 1-7 years post-call or currently enrolled in the Nigerian Law School Bar Part 2.

 Submissions: Please include your full name, phone number, and email address.

Formatting: Use Times New Roman font, size 12, and limit your essay to 2500 words. Let’s keep it concise and readable for the reviewers. Use the NALT referencing style.

Proof of Payment: Include proof of payment of the Bar Practicing Fees (BPF) and Branch Dues for 2023.

Nigerian Law School Students: Attach a copy of your valid identification card from the Nigerian Law School.

Deadline: Submit your essay by 6 pm on Sunday, 6th August 2023, to the following email address: henrybarnabasehiessay2023@gmail.com.

Evaluation: Independent assessors from academia will evaluate the essays.

TOPICS FOR “THE HENRY BARNABAS EHI ESSAY COMPETITION”

You can write on any of the topics;

1. The role of international agreements and cooperation in establishing an effective legal framework for carbon capture and trading in Africa.

2. The legal responsibilities of oil and gas companies in addressing social issues and stakeholder engagement: An examination of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices in Nigeria.

3. Corporate governance and ESG integration in the oil and gas industry: How effective are regulatory measures in Nigeria?


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

1. Certificate of Participation: Every participant will receive a certificate of participation.

2. Publication Opportunity: The top 10 articles will be published in the Easy Read journal.
Competition Timeline: July 8, 2023, to August 6, 2023
