Our Face Of The Week, Miss Olatigbe Busolami is is a third-year law student of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba-Akoko and the Welfare Director of its prestigious law student’s society (LSS).
Interview
LK: Nice to meet you Miss Busolami. Can you give us more insight to yourself?
FOTW: I’m Olatigbe Busolami Christianah, also known as Busolami white. I’m the welfare director of Law student’s society, AAUA. I’m also the General Secretary for the Female Law Students' Forum, as well as the social media handler for AAUALAW.
LK: Do you have any hobbies?.
FOTW: I love to sing, vlog, make content for social media, take pictures and so much more. I’m also a very social person.
LK: What was your motivation for studying law?
FOTW: I’ve always talked a lot and I love writing, people around me have always predicted that I’ll either be a journalist or a lawyer. My parents do not like the idea of me being a journalist. Consequently, I chose to study law.
LK: As a law student\aspiring legal professional, it’s a necessity to interact with others, not only for the sake of knowledge, but to make important connections with colleagues and lecturers alike. As the welfare director, you seem to be an expert in this, how did you come about that?
FOTW: I would say it’s more of my thing. My social life is a part of me that law met, it’s easy for me to interact with people. Studying law kind of improved it and me being a social butterfly has helped a lot with my position.
LK: You are a person with albinism, how would you say this has improved or affected your social life?
FOTW: It improved my social life rather than limit it. I get noticed easily and people are very curious about me, “I love your hair, your eyes.” They say all these things whenever I am present. People would want to stop and see what this girl with albinism is made of.
I feel like if you’re the light, you shouldn’t hide in the dark.
LK: How do you keep up with all your positions and academics?
FOTW: It’s been God, prayer and hard work.
LK: What is your life’s motto?
FOTW: Have money...just kidding. Have God, it’s very important, then have money. They say, “when the going gets tough, the tough gets going.” Never give up.
LK: Any advice for law students who find it difficult to interact with others?
FOTW: Build yourselves, Law is not a profession you can do all alone, you’ll definitely need someone somewhere. Interact with people, non law students included; they are your future clients. Even if you’re introverted, there should be a fragment of connection with others.
