FOTW INTERVIEWED BY LKITE ANJOLA
INTERVIEW
LK: Please introduce yourself and the positions you hold in LSS.
FOTW: I am Akeredolu Olasunkanmi Israel. I'm popularly called O. I. Akeredolu or Egbon Israel within LSS. I have held several positions within LSS and beyond LSS, as a law student since 100 level, I am currently the Senior Partner, Equity Private Chamber, Criminal litigation department and the Assistant Chamber Head, Akinola Aguda Public Chamber.
LK: What do you find yourself doing in your spare time?
FOTW: I barely have that spare time but anytime I do, if I'm not researching, then I'm with my friends or probably watching a football game.
LK: What instigated your decision to do law?
FOTW: I was thrilled by the legal journey of a great legal icon, the indefatigable Late Gani Fawehinmi, his feats stirred the urge to study law. Moreso, the prestige that comes with this profession is impeccable.
LK: Now that you've spent considerable time in the law department, how would you say you're faring?
FOTW: I'm faring well.
LK: Are there any role models you look up to within and outside the law industry?
FOTW: Well, like I stated earlier, Late Gani Fawehinmi is not just a role model, but a force to reckon with. I look at his quality, when it comes to legal practice. There are other great names like Wole Olanipekun, amongst others... Outside the study of law, names like Anthony Robbins, Myles Munroe are models I look up to.
LK: What is your drive or motivation, show us the wayyy
FOTW: Jesus is the way *laughs*... My drive and motivation is to always be successful and never give up, no matter the tough times. I always want to see the end and be the one smiling at the end.
LK: What advice can you give junior colleagues?
FOTW: Law is hard, Law is simple, whichever you believe, that's your reality... Besides the classroom study, build capacity, build your CV, it will help.
LK: Can we know your relationship status? Is there someone you have your eyes on?
FOTW: I am single, but I am not searching.
LK: It was nice catching up with you…thanks for your time.
FOTW: Same here.
LK…making a statement.
