AAUA DECIDES (2024) : MANDELA EMERGES AS WINNER OF THE ELECTION

Boladale Oyindamola Olamide popularly known as “Mandela.”has won the 2024 SUG general electionAnnouncing him as the President-elect, Professor Afolabi, the Chairman of the Students' Union Electoral Committee (SUEC), stated that Mandela secured the majority of votes. Mandela garnered 694 votes, triumphing over Francophone who attained 520 votes.

To cast their votes at the CBT centre, voters were required to first go through a screening process at the obj hall for accreditation and then were issued a tally.

However, the accreditation process caused frustration among many students as it experienced delays, nearly escalating into a confrontation outside the hall.

Furthermore, the servers at the CBT centre malfunctioned, bringing the screening process to a standstill. The SUEC Committee apologized for the Stand still, and voting resumed just before 2pm.

The NUCJ (Nigerian Union of Campus Journalists) closely monitored the election, stationing their correspondents at key locations such as the accreditation hall, the CBT centre, and the Result Viewing spot.

The voting concluded precisely at 5:22pm.

The details of the results will be shared later.
