Minutes of the meeting: As Reported By Lkite Victor.
The secretary of the task force committee addressed the congress regarding the dress code, referencing provisions S 62 and S 66 of the constitution which define the dress code for law students and the task force's scope respectively.
Regarding the use of facilities, it was resolved that restrooms designated for law students be restricted solely to their department. Discussion then shifted to the LSS due of ₦1500, with the faculty dean warning that defaulters may face registration restrictions. The president urged at least 50% payment to avoid issues.
After the president has raised the issue of LSS due, an observation was raised by a concerned lssite that the lss due paid last semester in the last administration wasn't accounted for.
it was also raised that the financial statement for the previous semester had not been released by the SUG CJ elect, Elebute Gabpet.
Replying to this, the president relayed information that they haven’t received and financial report of the last administration and in fact the gmail account used to receive transactions alert both debit and credit was deleted and cleared so they don’t have idea of what went in and what got out of the society’s account.
These discoveries roused members of the house with some lssites even claiming that there was a complicated issue around the deleting of the emails and that the activities of the ex president were suspicious and questionable
This was also corroborated by other congressmen who saw it as lack of transparency and destruction of society files concerning the integrity of the ex president, the then Fin sec and Treasurer
The speaker was observed and he said he’d compel the last administration to release the financial statements before 12 on Monday.
However, this was deemed not necessary as many persons accused the speaker of being bias and not having done it sooner prompting a motion being moved by Honorable Esquire that the financial report be released before 12pm today, 4th of March, 2023.
This motion was seconded by Honourable Milk
This was the resolution on that particular agenda.
The LSS picnic was discussed as an end-of-semester gathering, initially priced at ₦1500 per person but reduced to ₦1000 based on feedback. Payment would serve as entry validation.
